Local Lore & Funeral Customs
Join us on Saturday, Oct. 17th, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. around the campfire while we share a few Ashe County ghost stories and discuss Appalachian funeral practices. Visitors are also encouraged to share any local ghost tales or spooky stories they might have! On this evening the museum's living history cabin will be set up as an old-time Appalachian funeral where staff and volunteers will be talking about the funeral customs of days gone by.
Smores and lemonade to be served while supplies last!
The event will take place by the Living History Cabin on the grounds of the Museum of Ashe County History, located at 301 E. Main Street in Jefferson, NC. This event is FREE and open to the public; however, donations are always appreciated. For more information, call (336) 846-1904.
