History Lives Here

Housed in Jefferson's historic 1904 courthouse, the Museum of Ashe County History preserves and interprets the rich history and culture of Ashe County, North Carolina, and the surrounding region. We use artifacts, text, photos, and interactive displays to educate the public about life in the Southern Appalachians. In addition to our exhibits, we host several events throughout the year, such as educational lectures, living histories, live music, and more! We are where Ashe County remembers!
