Ashe County Blue Ridge Brutal
On Saturday, Aug. 15th, the Ashe County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its annual Blue Ridge Brutal bike ride.
If traveling to Jefferson this day, please be aware that East Main Street (the street in front of the Museum of Ashe County History) will be closed to through traffic from 5:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. If planning to visit the museum that day, please utilize Court Street and park in the designated parking areas.
The Blue Ridge Brutal is not for the fainthearted. All four routes—100, 70, 50, and 25 miles in length—take you through the Blue Ridge Mountains and over many hills. However, your efforts are rewarded by many stunning views of the coolest corner of North Carolina. In addition, each ride includes hospitality and rider aide at designated rest stops, clearly signed routes, and volunteers at major turns.
